Our Systemic Psychotherapy Service prioritises how you interact with and in your Life. We trust that you want balance. But sometimes it is hard to attain, yet define. Our therapy pays attention to nurturing balance in relation to others.

We are all exhausted by roles and responsibilities. We want rest, but sometimes life does not allow it. Life is about rest, and not sprinting too fast. We might miss what is on the side walk.

Life is about learning to pause, so we can value ourselves and others. We tried talking or communicating and sometimes, it feels really wrong to want to be understood.

Life is about developing the skills to negotiate change, struggles and stuckness. It is about finding the voice to articulate what kind of flow is required in the moment. Life is about finding the network that works for you.

Life needs to be nurtured with care.

Our Psychotherapy service will nurture you and your contexts, through life-giving conversations. Take your first step – sometimes we do not need long therapy, just a few good ones.

6 Moments where Psychotherapy can help

01. When you or your relationship(s) is/are no longer serving you.

02. When life transitions become challenging for you and your loved ones.

03. When talking is impossible between you and your significant relationships.

04. When you are overwhelmed or experience hopelessness personally and professionally.

05. When you need to find alternative coping mechanisms to life circumstances.

06. When you want to explore your mind and meaning in life.

Psychotherapy vs Counselling

Counselling provides space for quick solutions; psychotherapy on the other hand, requires more time as we deal with deep-rooted issues such as trauma, mental- health, inter-generational, cultural and spiritual concerns.

If you think you need counselling, we can certainly offer that. But, if you need psychotherapy and a different kind of listening, we are there for YOU.

We are trained psychotherapists with many years of experience working with relational and familial issues. We pay attention to how we offer and bridge care.

You can come alone or with your family members for our therapy sessions. Sometimes, you may want to begin with you first. Sometimes, you may want to also deliberate this decision with us.

We invite you into our therapy space to explore your concerns, and to experience a different kind of holding and tending.

If you are attending therapy, give permission to ask this question to your therapist:

“Can you do therapy that helps me look at myself in the way others have failed, kindly?”.

How we work

  • We recognise life tribulations.

We recognise the struggles, the stuckness and tiredness that comes with living. We pay attention to how, you or people you love, go through transitions, make life decisions and embrace life tribulations.

  • We use the concept of Flow

Using the concept of flow, at Hayaa’ Network, we centre our practice and intervention on helping you re-discover the flow in your relationships with yourself, your couplehood and your family life and living.

At Hayaa’, we help you rediscover your flow, your energy and help you re-purpose life and regain balance as you negotiate these transitions. We also invite you to build on life opportunities as you navigate your life transitions.

  • We do not use blame.

We do not use blame, but help you discover the language to address your pain. We ask therapeutic questions that help you look at your circumstances differently. We challenge ideas that are seemingly normal and usual, including religion and spirituality; and we challenge stuck positions experienced by individuals and families.

  • We believe you are unique.

We don’t shy away from difficult conversations around spirituality, gender identity and politics and race. Let us talk about it.

Hayaa’ Network never believes in a one-size fits all – we value your unique abilities, circumstances and contexts.

What to expect

01. We focus on relationship patterns.

All our therapists are trained in social work and family therapy, and are familiar with the systemic orientation of working with relationships.

02. We customise the therapy session according to your needs.

The frequency of sessions will depend on your need and the therapist’s assessment of your concerns. During the intake session ie. first session, the therapist will usually inform on the frequency of the sessions (ranging from weekly, to once every two to four weeks). This is dependent on the nature of the relationship, and the extent of the conflict/disagreement present in the relationship.

03. We conduct both physical and online sessions.

Our therapy sessions are conducted physically at our office, or online via Zoom.

 About Us

A natural progression to the genuine concern for the community, Ustazah Liyana Musfirah pursued the endeavour to provide quality, reliable, nurturing and life- giving support network for the community.

Stimulated by Community of Future Asatizah [COFA] report chaired by Dr Maliki Osman, Chairman on Future Asatizah and currently the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Education & Foreign Affairs, Ustazah Liyana Musfirah forged an inclusive collaboration with professional community of practice to further professionalise the current effort of empowering women. In fact the collaboration offered an impetus to surface the discourse on empowering women to include consultancy, training and psychotherapy services.

This holistic network of services marks the transition and expansion of the support network for Muslim women. Complementing the work of Liyana Musfirah network, Hayaa’ Network embarks on women’s way of knowing, learning and being through giving special attention to how women make connections, forge relationships and interact with larger contexts (family, education, employment, health, religion) and complexity of life.
